Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

 

The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

 

ACLS:

  • For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

What does this course teach?

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

 

2020 ACLS PROVIDER MANUAL:
The American Heart Association requires all students to bring the 2020 AHA ACLS Provider Manual to class. You may purchase the book when you register. You can also purchase the ebook at https://ebooks.heart.org.

Mandatory Pre-Course Requirements

The AHA requires all students taking ACLS to pass the Pre-Course Self-Assessment exam with a score of 70% or greater.

  • After registration students will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to do the Pre – Course Self-Assessment and Precourse Work.
  • You can take the exam over until a passing grade is achieved.

Consider an Online Hybrid Option. We are adding more appointments for the online/in-person hybrid FastTrack classes where you can do most of the learning online. These offer the same AHA certification as the classroom- based courses but significantly reduces the in-person time.

You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one here. You can also renew your BLS on the same day as your ACLS class. Please choose from the following optional items:
